The Bottom Line

Transparency & AccuracyIcon

Transparency & Accuracy

4.5

Paw CBD is committed to creating the best CBD products for pets. Their parent company is CBD MD. There is not a lot of information about who is behind the company, however, all of their products are formulated by a veterinarian team. All products are third party tested. When looking at the results, we found that there is never any THC or contaminants, such as mycotoxins or heavy metals, present. However, their CBD variance was higher than 10%. Paw CBD was awarded Best Pet CBD by Kantar who surveyed over 40,000 people.

Hemp QualityIcon

Hemp Quality

4.4

Paw CBD’s hemp is USA grown, non-GMO, and grown without pesticides. They extract their CBD using CO2 and third party tests each and every batch for THC, CBD, and contaminants. All products are made with broad spectrum CBD.

Customer ExperienceIcon

Customer Experience

5.0

The buying and shipping experience is intuitive. They offer free 2 to 3 day shipping and a 60 day return policy. Their customer service response time is speedy and information provided is comprehensive.

Paw CBD has a fairly wide range of products. They are all geared toward pets. Their line includes edibles, topicals, and tinctures for both dogs and cats.

Price & DiscountsIcon

Price & Discounts

4.2

There are no specific discounts for certain groups, however, there are promotions that offer free products with a purchase. Plus, there are multiple bundle options which can save you money. The majority of their products are priced at $0.08 to $0.17 per mg of CBD, which means their prices are very competitive for the CBD pet space. CBD pet products tend to be priced higher than CBD products for humans, and Paw CBD’s prices are comparable to human CBD product prices. To learn more about how we compare prices for CBD, look at our pricing report.

Methodology

  • Read our methodology for more details about ranking and our review process.

    Data Collection and Rating

In our review process, we receive CBD products directly from the brand to personally review ourselves, so we can give you an accurate idea of the packaging, potency, taste, smell, feel, and overall experience of each product. We also discuss the company’s shipping and returns policy.
Another important step we take is reviewing each individual product for details such as the certificate of analysis to assess the CBD level and CBD variance, THC level, and contaminants.
We take all factors into account and give each CBD brand and each CBD product a score for each parameter.
All of the information we collect is generated into a concise, easy to read review and put into our extensive database. Keep in mind, our reviews are never intended to substitute or act as medical advice.

    Product DataBase

Our database collects key information for each product, including CBD product prices, potencies, third-party lab test results, flavors, additional ingredients, hemp quality, extract types, product variety, and more.
We then use all of this combined data to give each brand and product a standardized rating out of five points.

    Brand Review Process

There are many factors we consider when we review the quality, integrity and products of a CBD brand. We rate each brand on several factors including:

    • Transparency & accuracy. It is important that a CBD brand is forthcoming with who makes up their team, their mission, manufacturing process, and lab reports. Also, we look for the accuracy of the CBD and THC levels in the products’ lab reports.
    • Hemp quality. Hemp quality can be a deciding factor between a good CBD brand and a great CBD brand. We look for organic and sustainable farming methods with attention to detail in each manufacturing step.
    • The variety of products they offer. We like to see several CBD product types and flavors.
    • Customer service. It is essential that each CBD company has multiple ways to connect to customer service to ask questions. We look for speedy and complete responses.
    • Price and discounts. Competitive pricing is an important aspect of being a top-rated CBD brand. We also look for discount options and ways to save on your order.

    Market Reports

Another way Leafreport stands out from other CBD review websites is our evidence-based market reports. For each one, we purchase different types of CBD products and send them for independent lab testing to check whether their levels of CBD and other cannabinoids match the label.

    Information Updates

Writers and editors conduct our reviews and our database on an annual basis but continually make updates throughout the year. We maintain frequent contact with brands and highlight any changes in offerings.

    The Review Team

Our review team is made up of a wide chain of qualified CBD review writers, some with medical degrees, some with statistics backgrounds, others with ample experience in the CBD arena. Each and every one of our CBD reviews are approved by our medical reviewer before being published on our website to ensure all information is accurate.

    Conflicts of Interest

While Leafreport does have partnerships with many of the reviewed brands, we manage potential conflicts of interest by maintaining a wall between our content and business operations. This wall is designed to prevent our writers and the review process from being influenced or impacted by our business partnerships. This way, all reviews can provide an unbiased review that serves the interests of our users.

    About the Company

Paw CBD was created based upon the mission of offering the highest quality CBD products, specifically designed for animals. Their parent company is CBD MD. Their products were designed with the needs of dogs, cats, and other animals in mind. This means, there are no unnecessary binders, fillers, or synthetic ingredients that are harmful to your pet’s well being. A survey of over 40,000 people completed by Kantar awarded Paw CBD as the winner of best Pet CBD.

There is not a lot of information about the company’s team members on their website. However, their FAQ page is full of information about CBD, how to use it for pets, and other general information about CBD as a product.

They do not list an address where their headquarters are located. To contact the customer care team, you can call, email, or use the direct message box on their contact page.

All of their products are third party tested for purity and potency. We accessed the third party lab report for the Feline CBD Oil on the product page and matched up the batch number. The report showed there is 335.05mg of CBD per bottle, which is 35.05mg more than listed. This calculates out to a CBD variance of 12%. This is above the 10% acceptable variance. There was no detectable THC or contaminants such as microbials, pesticides, solvents, heavy metals, or mycotoxins.

    Manufacturing Process

Paw CBD uses non-GMO hemp on farms located in the USA. They do not specify which states their farms are located in, or if they are licensed hemp farms. They quality check their raw ingredients and final products using ISO certified third party testing. This ensures their hemp is free from contaminants and contains the desired amounts of CBD and other cannabinoids. Their manufacturing facilities are also GMP compliant.

To extract CBD from the hemp, they use CO2 extraction. CO2 extraction is regarded to be the cleanest, and highest standard extraction method for CBD as it does not use any other chemicals or solvents. All of the THC is removed with pressure to create broad spectrum CBD. This type of CBD contains all the synergistic terpenes, hemp cannabinoids, and phytonutrients, except for THC.

Paw CBD’s products are formulated by a veterinarian with the unique needs of animals in mind. Their formulas are free from chemicals, synthetic ingredients, and unnecessary preservatives.
