The Bottom Line

My review of Blue Forest Farms is excellent based on their certified organic hemp quality, their available extract options, their product variety, and their highly accurate lab results. They publish the exact potency and any available purity tests for each product on a centralized lab report hub for easy customer reference.

They offer premium quality, certified organic, broad spectrum, isolate, and full spectrum CBD products that are pesticide free and non-GMO. They are available in tinctures, topicals, softgels, edibles, and pet items that range from $24.99 to $299.99, with an average price point of $.13. This means that Blue Forest Farms’s product prices are higher than average, when compared to other certified organic brands in the market that are also GMP compliant. They offer free shipping on orders, with no minimum required, and they offer a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee on all orders.

The accuracy variances for these Blue Forest Farms products concerning potency are excellent, with four checked products testing well below the acceptable 10% variance limit allowed and one product testing slightly over at 12%. One of their products passed standard purity testing; however, purity lab test results for the other four ordered products were unavailable at this time. All ingredients used in these certified organic Blue Forest Farms CBD products are all natural, with nothing artificial used during manufacturing or formulation, according to the company.

Pros: Cons:
  • Free ground shipping on all orders
  • Certified organic, non-GMO products
  • Donate 10% to several non-profits
  • No FAQ section on main website
  • Some products missing batch numbers
  • No “About Us” page on main website

About the Company

Established in 2016, Blue Forest Farms was founded on a 200 acre Colorado farm with a mission statement of “operating on the cutting edge, disrupting the industry and changing the way we think of hemp,” according to the company website. They firmly believe that hemp derived CBD should be of the highest quality and should be accessible to everyone on the planet, since it is a naturally abundant crop.

Transparency

Independent CBD testing is a necessary quality and safety control tool to ensure that the labeled amounts of CBD and THC are very close to the contents of each final product a customer receives. All of the products in my Blue Forest Farms order were third party tested for CBD and THC potency, but only one product was tested for purity due to their USDA certified organic designation, according to the company.

All of the third party lab results available for the Blue Forest Farms CBD product catalog are located under a centralized “Quality Control” link, located in the main menu, as seen here:

Accuracy

Using the Blue Forest Farms “Lab Reports” link under resources and the centralized “Quality Control” link on the main menu, it was easy to match the products with the independent third party lab reports provided once customer service supplied me with missing batch numbers:

As far as the highest accuracy variance in this order, the 100 mg certified organic, full spectrum pet treats tested with 112 total mg of CBD or 5.6 mg per treat, which is a 12% accuracy variance and slightly higher than the acceptable 10% limit. The next highest variance was found in the 750 mg softgels, which tested at 54.81 mg of CBD per serving size of two softgels for a total of 822.15 mg of CBD. This is a variance of 9.62% and below the 10% limit allowed.

The lowest accuracy variance was found in the 600 mg broad spectrum, organic Vanilla Spice tincture, which tested with 598.94 total mg of CBD. This is a accuracy variance of .17% and well below the 10% variance limit allowed, as seen here in the COA provided online:

All products were confirmed by independent third party testing to contain less than the legal 0.3% limit of THC or a non detectable amount, and all purity tests for one checked product were passed. However, to the best of our knowledge, purity test lab results for the other three ordered products were unavailable at this time.

Reputation

According to the company, Blue Forest Farms has combined over 40 years of experience to assemble their team of hemp farmers, botanists, and CBD extraction specialists. They are dedicated to CBD joy, honor, passion, and lifestyle, per the “BFF Difference” section posted online. They donate at least 10% of their net profits to a variety of local and global nonprofit organizations, in order to give back to their community and their planet conscious consumers.

Manufacturing Process

Blue Forest Farms is a legal, authorized grower of premium, certified organic U.S. hemp, sourced from their Colorado farm which customers can explore online. Their full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate hemp derived CBD products are extracted using a CO2 process before being formulated with easily digestible MCT oil as the carrier for maximum bioavailability.

After formulation, the next step is independent third party CBD testing, which is an important safety and quality control measure utilized by Blue Forest Farms to ensure that the labeled potency of CBD and THC matches the contents. They conduct independent potency lab testing for all of their products and post the available results online.

Range of Products

Blue Forest Farms offers premium quality, certified organic CBD products that are available in full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate tinctures, topicals, softgels, edibles, and pet items. Their products range in CBD content from 5 mg to 5000 mg, and are higher priced than comparable premium, certified organic brands, with an overall average price point of $.13 per mg of CBD.

CBD Tinctures

These CO2 extracted, certified organic tinctures are offered in broad spectrum, full spectrum, and isolate formulations. The company suggests that consumers start with a dose of 1 full dropper, which is 1 ml. There are no visible measuring marks on the dropper, however, making precise dosing tricky. The tinctures are formulated with MCT oil for easy digestion, and are offered in a natural variety. They are suggested by the company for oral or sublingual use, or a tincture can be added to beverages or food.
